Chexx Inc. offered businesses a way to pay beneficiaries in their own currency, using payment methods that are familiar, comfortable, and do not add expense to the recipient.
Actions against the company
On September 22, 2016, Chexx Inc. was sanctioned by the US government as a result of accusations against its parent company. There were no direct accusations against Chexx Inc.
Due to the loss of banking relationships caused by the sanction, Chexx Inc was forced to immediately cease trading, and to commence an orderly wind down of its operations.
Outcomes
Chexx Inc and its directors were removed from the OFAC sanction list with no further incident to the company. However the company was irreparably damaged and there is no chance that it will resume operations.
